Welcome
I'm Michael Parker, and throughout my life I've been many things:
Camp counselor
Maintenance man
Student
Soccer player
Runner
Biologist
Curler
Artist
Professor
Administrator

I was born in Silver Spring, MD but spent most of my childhood in Reedsville, smack dab in the middle of Pennsylvania. After high school, I followed my interest in science to study and perform research at seven different institutions all across the United States. All throughout, I've held a strong interest in athletics, and have competed in as many sports as I've had time to try. In high school and beyond, I've competed in soccer, track, cross country, and curling. I love spending time outside, building things, and taking on new challenges.

Today, I live in Fairfax, VA with my wife Trish and work at Georgetown University. I advise students in their academics, publish research in biosecurity policy, and am in the beginning stages of writing a book.
